Skillet Bacon Jam Review

I was so excited to try Skillet Bacon Jam. I was also a little scared because it is both bacon and jam and I didn’t know what to expect. I got a sample size of Skillet Bacon Jam in the mail and I immediately opened it. To me, it smelled like a barbeque restaurant or a cook-out. Smokey was the word that popped in my mind. It smelled smokey. 

I couldn’t very well let the jar just sit there, I had to make something with it.  First thing I did was check out the home of Skillet Bacon Jam online and look at the recipes in their restaurant. I decided on a Bacon Jam and Brie burger and promptly went to the store for some Brie.  My husband grilled some burgers on the George Foreman grill, I sliced some brie and we added Skillet Bacon Jam to the burger. This was the test. I could taste the smokiness and onions, but there was more. The jam is perfectly seasoned with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt and black pepper. 

Dinner was awesome, the Skillet Bacon Jam tasted really good with the brie on the burger.  I really would call this more of a spread than a jam, either way I really like this bacon flavored love in a jar.


I wondered if it would work with other dishes. My husband wanted to try it with breakfast and he proceeded to add it to his breakfast this morning. It was a waffle with eggs, cheese and syrup along with the Skillet Bacon Jam. He said it tasted really good and that he would use it again. I can’t wait to try it on more foods.
