Wine at a Coffee Shop?

I had a wonderful time last night at a Wine Tasting at my favorite local coffee shop, Yada Yada Pottery & Indie Coffee House. I use the term coffee shop loosely, as it is so much more. I can get a delicious coffee, a gourmet meal and paint a piece of pottery all in the same place! The wine tasting was so much fun. It was a date night for me and hubby and I was so happy I got to spend the night with great friends. I also got to meet some new people, have interesting coversations and listen to great music.

The food was amazing! Bruschette with pulled chicken or bean pesto, salad, dates wrapped in cheese and proscuitto (to die for!), brie and more. It was terrific. The wine was awesome. I actually think I found a new favorite Merlot, Bulletin Place. It is peppery and smooth and reminds me of a Shiraz more than a Merlot, but that’s good because I usually prefer a nice Shiraz wine. There were other wine samplings, of course, but that one was my favorite by far.

The wine tasting is yet another reason I ask you not to judge a book by it’s cover, or a “coffee shop” by it’s sign. It is so much more and you won’t know until you walk in, look around, eat something and talk to the people who love this place with their heart and souls.

You may drive by small businesses every day and not think about it, but next time you are driving to the big chain stores look around for the smaller businesses that might have just what you’re looking for. Think about the small business owners who would love to talk with you and share their stories over a cup of coffee (or a bottle of wine).

    1. Thank you! It was so much fun. The coffee shop is having another wine tasting later this month, so I’m hoping I can be there. 😀
