There are times when you’ve reached your limit. This is my limit. I’m tired of the hatred. Let’s face the fact that there is a lot of it floating around out there today. Be it in cyberspace, in the news, or even in your community – you can find hatred everywhere.
People are showing their negativity every day, whether in politics or social media. You know that we’ve all seen it and we may or may not have said something about it. I’m telling you I’m just tired of all the negative words and hate being spewed everywhere. Can’t we all just get along?
You know something? Scratch that.
Take care of your tribe, your family, and leave everyone else alone. Don’t like something? Be the change. Step back before you say something you’ll regret or something that will be forever seen somewhere in cyber land. Smile at someone today, give a compliment, share a hug. Just start small and make a difference.
I don’t like to think of my children growing up in a world where it’s okay for someone to hate an entire race or gender. That’s not okay with me. I’m not naïve and I’ve dealt with bullies in the past, but this is just the tip of the iceburg. One person starts the hate speech and somehow it takes over a group of people because you know there are so many sheeps out there. The next generation needs to go back to the ‘make love not war’ mentality and we need to be the ones to teach them.
Yes, it’s okay to have your opinions because this is a free country. What’s not okay is to push your views onto other people, especially those that are doing what they can to be the best that they can be at what they do. Be that a teacher, writer, blogger, cashier at the Publix, whatever you decide is your calling in life. Do not knock someone else down because of how YOU feel. Do you feel like you’ve failed at something? Take a look at yourself, not your next door neighbor or your co-worker and tear them down because you feel like crap. Just.Don’t.Do.It. Take a deep breath and a yoga class and release the negativity.
Okay, I think I’ve vented enough. My goal has always been to be true to myself, honest with my readers, and always positive, but some days are just better than others.
