Do you face problems getting your child to eat his greens? I face that problem with my eldest when he was young. Now there is an innovative tool for parents who want to get children to enjoy eating fruits and vegetables in the form of the Copy-Kids DVD. Dominique of Dominique’s Desk recently reviewed this DVD with her kids. Here is her review of the DVD. Last month we received a copy of the Copy-Kids DVD to review. My kids are not real fans of vegetables and I’ve been trying to get them to eat more vegetables and more different types of vegetables. I really wondered if by watching this DVD the kids would get more interested in eating their greens .
The DVD featured 12 x 7 minute chapters, one for each of twelve fruits & veggies: Apples – Avocado – Banana – Bell Pepper – Blueberries – Broccoli – Carrots – Cucumber – Orange – Raspberries – Strawberries – Tomato Each chapters featured different kids aged between 9 months to 4 years, eating with joy and delight. My kids were surprised to see the kids happily munching down on the vegetable in front of them.
My 18 month old couldn’t wait to try eating some raspberries which I purposely put in front of her while. Before watching the DVD she has always shown caution and would be rather suspicious of any new vegetables which we would introduce to her. However now she happily grabbed the bowl of raspberries in front of her and happily munch them like the kids on television. I do believe that that kids learn the fastest from copying one another and that good habits like encouraging eating of vegetables is possible through the watching of this DVD.
Targeted at ages 6 months to 5 years old I feel that the DVD works better on younger kids under the age of 4 as my 5 yr old was more skeptical and not really taken in by the “kid-copy-kid” philosophy as he asked me if he really needed to eat the raspberries before them. My 8yr old firmly told me “No Mom, I’m definitely not eating any of those!!”. Do check out this DVD if you have picky eaters or kids who are not very into eating vegetables at home. You be amazed on how it changes your kid’s perception of vegetables. You can get more information about Copy-Kid’s DVD from their Facebook Page
