Wild Willie’s Beard Balm
Having never tried Beard Balm or Mustache Wax before, my husband was a little skeptical when I ordered Wild Willie’s Beard Butter. Hubby has a mustache and goatee and over the past 17 years has only shaved it all off a handful of times. As he’s gotten older, his beard hair has gotten a little scruffier looking and I was thinking that maybe some conditioner would help (what do I know?). Since I didn’t figure he’d use my hair conditioner in his beard, I found Wild Willie’s Beard Butter and placed my order.
Once he received the package, the first thing we noticed about the beard balm is that it has an organic smell (like cedar and rosemary). Once opened, you’ll see that the has the consistency of shoe polish or beeswax. My husband scraped a bit out and rubbed it between fingers to soften a bit. Then, hubby worked it into his beard from root to tip, as the directions stated.
After applying the paste, my husband said the smell dissipated over the course of an hour. He used the product for a week, but didn’t think that it made that much of a difference in how soft his beard felt. Personally, I thought it felt a little less prickly. He has a short goatee/mustache combo, so it may make a more noticeable difference for someone with a longer beard.
Pros: Easy to apply
Cons: Husband disliked the cedar smell (I didn’t mind it!)
He will continue to use the product over the course of a month and see what additional benefits he can see. Stay tuned and I’ll give you an update.
