ROCK DOG Movie
ROCK DOG comes to Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on May 23, 2017. We gathered the family together the other night and popped some corn, broke out the Snow Caps, and put ROCK DOG in the Blu-ray player.
From the co-director of Toy Story 2 comes this smile-raising tale of Bodi (Luke Wilson), a Tibetan Mastiff following his dream of being a rock-and-roll star. Bodi sets out on an epic quest to persuade rock legend Angus Scattergood (Eddie Izzard) to be his mentor. But after Bodi-s father (J.K. Simmons) and village are threatened by a thuggish wolf (Lewis Black) and his rabid pack, Bodi will need his courage — and some awesome riffs — to save his home and become ROCK DOG!
Finding Your Path
ROCK Dog is a heartwarming story of following your dreams and finding your inner rock god. Okay, maybe that’s not the underlying story, but it is a cute theme. The story follows Bodi on his journey to find his calling. Let me give you a hint: guarding sheep is not said calling.
Bodi is enamored with one Angus Scattergood, who is a famous rocker (you should see his guitar collection!). Ultimately, Bodi faces many challenges in following his heart and that makes the movie interesting. I would say that this would be a good family movie for those with younger kids. The tunes are catchy and my kids were still humming along after the movie was over.
Oh, and it was nice to hear Sam Elliott’s voice as Fleetwood Yak. That’s a voice I could listen to for days.
