Beautifully crafted art journals from Ellie Claire are the perfect gifts for friends and family. The attention to detail in the journals can be felt in the weight of the paper and can be seen in the embossed covers. The art journals are well crafted and absolutely a must-buy for those on your gift-giving list.
I’ve been obsessed with journals since I was a teenager and I’ve passed that love of journaling onto my daughter. She is an artistic soul and always has a journal or her art notebook in her hands. Ellie Claire’s The Illustrated Word is going to make a great gift for her. It as plenty of lined pages for her writing and also coloring pages throughout.
The Illustrated Word: An Illuminated Bible Coloring Journal
The Illustrated Word journal has forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts that have been recreated as line drawings. Just as medieval monks brought Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts hundreds of years ago, you can now create your own stunning keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.
The first thing I noticed about The Illustrated Word art journal is its size. It’s a large 9″ x 7″ that opens to lined pages and beautiful illustrations, along with black and white coloring pages throughout. It was created using a heavy-weight paper that can handle pens, coloring pencils, or coloring markers with no bleed-through.
A few of my favorite bible verses in this journal are:
- Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
- Trust in the Lord, and do good. Psalm 37:3
- The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. Psalm 18:2
The Illustrated Word is a hardback book with fabric spine with a beautifully embossed front and back cover.
Illuminate Your Story Journal
Use the almost-lost art of illuminating letters to enhance your writing, Bible journaling, or sermon note-taking. Rich illustrated manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible’s collection inspired these gorgeous letters. Easy to follow instructions, practice pages, and encouragements guide you through the creation of amazing start letters, flourishes, and more.
The Ellie Claire Illuminate Your Story Journal is also a hard-back journal with a pen holder on the fabric-covered spine. Additionally, it has a fabric bookmark, a fabric band to keep the book closed, and a pocket inside the back cover for keepsakes. It measures 8″ x 6″.
The pages are thick enough for pen ink without bleed-through and include both lined journal pages and step-by-step visual and written instructions to guide you through drawing and creating the alphabet in illuminated letters. There are also bible verses and/or quotes for each letter of the alphabet to practice on.
My favorite bible verses or quotes from this journal include:
- How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts. Psalm 92:5 NIV
- I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take… The longer I live, the more my mind dwells upon the beauty and wonder of the world. – John Burroughs
- Most folks are about as happy as they make themselves up to be. – Abraham Lincoln
Ellie Claire Faith and Lettering Journal
With guides, instructions, and tutorials, this is a fun and inspiring way to create beauty with words. It is the perfect place for journalers to practice Bible journaling, lettering quotes and verses, or decorating a page with original thoughts and plans.
The Ellie Claire Faith and Lettering journal is as large as The Illustrated Word, at 9″ x 7″ and is also beautifully embossed. It is a hard-backed journal with a pen holder on the fabric spine.
This is a hand lettering journal and its purpose is to inspire you to reignite your devotional time and designed to be a safe place to practice prompts, try your hand at different styles, and grow your lettering skills.
It has thick pages that you can easily write with pencils, pens, colored pencils, and colored markers.
Plenty of lined pages, practice pages, and dotted pages weaved throughout with striking bible verses and quotes.
A few of my favorite bible verses or quotes from this journal include:
- Your hands made me and fashioned me. Psalm 119:73
- Fear not for I am with you. Isaiah 41:10
- I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14
Aren’t all these journals fantastic? Personally, I’m going to be using the Faith & Lettering Journal the most because I’ve been interested in hand lettering for a while and I think it will be useful with my journaling. My daughter is using The Illustrated Word and loves that she can be creative in her own hardbound journal.
Which one is your favorite? Tell me why.
