Thank you to Disney for providing event passes for my family. All opinions are completely my own.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Now you can attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, on select nights through October 31, 2018. On these select nights, Walt Disney World will only be open to those that have purchased a ticket for the event! That means shorter lines, fewer people, and a whole bunch of magic.
If you want to dress up to celebrate, you will not be alone! I’d say more than half of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party attendees are in costume. Some are quite spectacular. This year, the closest I could get my kids to dress up is a Frozen shirt and a Star Wars shirt. *sad face* But, I tried the Disneybounding idea for Snow White. I had a blue shirt, yellow sweater, a red bow in my hair, and coordinating jewelry. Seeing as I was heading out on August 31st, with temperatures in the 90s, I paired that with shorts and converse rather than a skirt and heels. Still, I liked the overall look and I think dressing up helped me enjoy the night that much more.
The Magic Kingdom is all dressed up for Fall and it’s wonderful. Even in Florida, it’s nice to be able to enjoy Halloween and the Fall. Disney just makes it extra special with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. My youngest, who is easily scared, has no problems at all enjoying herself when we attend this event every year. It’s something that she looks forward to.
What can we do during the event?
There is so much to see and do during this special event. In addition to the normal attractions, there are special parades and shows just for attendees!
- Boo-to-You Halloween Parade – Masquerade with costumed Characters—including stars from the Haunted Mansion—for a night of family-friendly frights.
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular – Chills, thrills and villains await during a wickedly fun celebration hosted by the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus.
- Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show – Sing along with some of the most infamous Disney bad guys and girls in history as this fall spectacular lights up the sky!
- The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet – Find this Dapper Dans-style “band” in Frontierland! They’ll have you howling in laughter to their “dead pan” humor.
And of course, you don’t want to miss out on the Trick-or-Treating stations set up throughout the park. You’ll even get a special brochure when you walk through the gates, along with your wristband, that shows you where all the treats are located so you won’t miss a one.
If you’re looking for the themed food, you’ll also find all the info to lead you to yumminess in your brochure. We picked up some fun Minnie Mouse brownies while we were there and they were delicious!
By the time we made it home, it was midnight and my kids were zonked. But, they had to get up long enough to look through their candy haul. I’m just going to say that they may have enough candy here to last through Halloween. But nothing is as good as making memories with your kids.
