Mead Botanical Garden in Orlando, Florida
I was born and raised in Orlando, even if I’ve been a little farther north for the past 26+ years. Just last week, we took the family down to Orlando to visit Mead Botanical Garden and the Pulse Memorial. We wanted to show the kids the beauty of the gardens, while stopping to pay respect to the lives lost at the Pulse shooting.
Even though I’m from Orlando, I had never been to Mead Botanical Garden. I know, right? It’s absolutely gorgeous and since my daughter loves all things nature, I thought it would be a perfect fit. Plus, it’s free to the public – even better for the budget. Just another reminder that family time doesn’t have to cost a ton of money, or any cash at all. Check out some of our pictures from our visit.
From the beautiful scenery surrounding you as you walk the boardwalk to the butterfly garden, there is just so much to see. I even found this broken boardwalk and I thought it was beautiful in a sad way. Make sure that you put the camera down for a few minutes and take it all in. This is the perfect place to relax and take the time to breathe.
