I wish there was more that I could do for this 14 year old girl. Her name is Mikayla and she has Castleman Disease (CD). You can read more about Mikayla’s Journey here. On top of treatments that she is undergoing and the stress of CD, her mother recently lost her long-time job due to budget cuts. After reading her story, I found out that I went to high school with her mother and that they still live in the same town as I do. I just brings it closer to home and closer to my heart.
Mikayla’s story breaks my heart. She has a disease that has NO CURE! I’m asking for the community to rally around her to find a way to support her during this very difficult time. There is a Benefit Run for Mikayla on September 22 at 10 AM, but raffle donations are needed. If you have anything to donate for the raffle such as candles, artwork, picture frames, photo albums, gift certificates or other items, please contact via Facebook Message on the Mikayla’s Journey Page.
Danielle Stratton Racing is also setting up a fundraiser and more information can be found on the DSR official website.
There is a bank account set up at Wells Fargo in the name of “Mikayla Monday Benefit Fund” account #3575058031. I know that there is also a PayPal account being set up.
As I get any updates to this information, I will pass it along.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and Mikayla’s story.
