Thank you to Disney for inviting my daughter to experience this magical day. All opinions are completely my own.
What is Dream Big, Princess?
Dream Big, Princess is a Disney campaign that inspires girls to celebrate achievements, encourage one another and be empowered to go after their own dreams! This theme is repeated in the Disney line-up of films that are back at AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theaters for a limited-time. We actually stopped by the theaters after the Merida makeover and princess tea party to watch Disney’s “Princess and the Frog”. It was my daughter’s first time seeing the movie on the big screen and she absolutely loved the movie and the entire experience. Through October 18th, re-experience some of your favorite moments all over again at AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theaters with shows taking place at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily, as follows:
- Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” (Live Action) – September 14 – 20, 2018
- Disney’s “Princess and the Frog” – September 21 – 27, 2018
- Disney’s “Tangled” – September 28 – October 4, 2018
- Disney’s “Moana” – October 5 – 11, 2018
- Disney’s “Cinderella” (Live Action) – October 12 – 18, 2018
A Magical Princess Makeover at Disney Springs
I told my daughter the night before that we would be going to Disney Springs for a “girls’ day” and that we would leave the boys at home. I don’t know if she was more excited for a mommy and me date or the tea party we planned to attend. Either way, watching her eyes light up and her smile get big it was a special day for both of us. You’ve probably heard about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at some time or another. There’s one in Disney World and one at Disney Springs here in Florida.
My daughter was invited to a special day of pampering at the Disney Springs Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and it was magical. From start to finish, they thought of every step to transform my daughter into Merida. Now, let it be known that my daughter is not a girly-girl, that normally she would rather go run around outside than play with dolls, but she loves when she can feel like a princess. A few years ago, she dressed up as one of the Disney Fairies for Halloween and she loved the way she felt when she was dressed up. So, the thought of her having a princess day brought tears to my eyes.
Princess Hairstyles
Upon walking into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs, we met Christine, who showed Delaney the options for her princess hairstyle. So many choices made it a difficult decision, but ultimately she went with the double braid.
The Princess Dressing Room
We were then shown into a “dressing room” by one of the fairy godmothers in training. But the room itself was a showstopper for my daughter. I actually thought I was going to cry when she walked into the room and saw the dress. She was smiling and “oo-ing” and “aw-ing”. You can see by the pictures below that there was a Merida dress handing on the wall, along with a scepter, shoes, and a crown. I’ve also added a picture of her dancing around while looking at all the Merida goodies.
Be sure to pay attention to the magic mirror!
The first time she tried on the dress (before the shoes were added). This. This is the reason that you share these moments with your kids. The sheer joy on their faces.
The Princess Transformation
Then, the transformation really begins. Delaney was then taken to the salon that was filled with fairy godmothers in training, ready to do their hair and makeup. She says that Zoe was the best fairy godmother in training ever, and so funny! Also, my daughter wasn’t into makeup or having her nails done that day because she felt that Merida wouldn’t want those things, but Zoe worked with what Delaney did want to do and made the day extra special. Plus, she put the makeup, nail polish, and other goodies in a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique bag to take with her so she could use it all later.
A princess makeover isn’t complete without a little Pixie Dust!
*My crazy mom face. 😉 I just couldn’t help myself.
This is the moment she was announced as Princess Delaney by fairy godmother in training, Zoe.
After she was announced, she went to the photo studio and had a photo session!
We grabbed a quick photo in the main lobby after she was all done with the Merida makeover.
The girls had a video crew following them around throughout the transformation process, then sat down to do one on one interviews. What did Delaney say was the reason she chose Merida as her makeover princess? Merida is ‘brave and strong…and she has a horse!’ You can watch her in the video below.

If you would like more information on the package options at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique you can find them here.
This particular package was the recently revamped Castle Package featuring new dresses inspired by Belle, Cinderella, Elena, Ariel, Snow White, Tiana, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Merida, Tinker Bell, Anna, and Elsa, and comes complete with gown, hairstyling, make-up, nail polish, and coordinating accessories.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique also offers Knight packages for the young men in your life! I also would suggest the PhotoPass Service when your kids are having a makeover because they get the best photos and you can keep crying into your tissues because your child is so happy. I always tell her how beautiful she is, but this was the first time she said, “today, I feel beautiful.” I want her to have more of those days and feel good about herself. It’s about helping her find that positive and helping her feel that way all the time.
