#PixarFest #Incredibles2Event
Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort
Have you stalked the #PixarFest hashtag on Instagram? Last night I was watching the feed because they had a Pixar Fest preview for the Disneyland park guests! They had the fireworks, parades, food, and merchandise ready to go. I was stunned with how amazing the Paint the Night parade looked. Oh, and I did see a little green man in a claw cup that I HAVE to have.
While at Pixar last week, we sat down with the Theme Parks team including Production Manager Krista Sheffler, Creative Director Tasha Sounart, and Production Manager Heidi Holman.
When I say that these women are excited about Pixar Fest, I mean they are EXCITED! They have been working on making sure every little detail is ready to go on April 13th and they shared some of the deets with us. Get ready for some great times and yummy goodness at Disneyland Resort during Pixar Fest.
Pixar in the Parks is a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar and from the images, the pairing is a match made in Disney/Pixar heaven. Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort begins today and will be at the parks until September 3, 2018.
Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar wanted to bring the films to life in an authentic, faithful, and true way.
Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular
“Together Forever” comes to life through projections on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. On the castle, we’ll be able to see WALL-E, COCO, and the INCREDIBLES. The fireworks show is going to be spectacular and will be Pixar themed, including CARS, TOY STORY and more. If any of you are in California and are going, grab some pictures because I’m dying to watch the new Pixar Nighttime Spectacular. If the artist’s concepts are anything to go by then it will be AMAZING!
Pixar Play Parade
Two favorite parades are returning for Pixar Fest! The “Pixar Play Parade” will be at Disneyland Park and is being led by the iconic Pixar Lamp and yellow Ball. In the parade, you’ll also see floats and characters from UP and INSIDE OUT. I’d be on the lookout for all the fun characters that will be popping up along the way.
Paint The Night Parade
The “Paint The Night” Parade will be heading to Disney California Adventure Park for Pixar Fest! This nighttime parade brings fan favorites like Sully, Mac, and Mike Wazowski.
The Disneyland Monorail
Not to be left out, the Disney•Pixar INCREDIBLES 2 characters are featured on The Disneyland Monorail. The orange train features Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack on one side and Frozone on the other. The blue train has the characters from FINDING NEMO, including Crush!
As a reminder (in case you’ve forgotten!) INCREDIBLES 2 opens in theaters on June 15, 2018.
Paradise Gardens
In addition, at Paradise Gardens you can catch the 7-piece musical ensemble, TripleDent Gum presents The Pixarmonic Orchestra as they perform some of Pixar film’s most memorable songs with a whimsical twist. Don’t forget to check out Paradise Gardens pavilion to meet some of Pixar’s best-loved characters, and maybe get a hug or two.
Over at Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure you can watch 3 Pixar Shorts in 3D! Through May 7th, the shorts include FOR THE BIRDS, LAVA, and PIPER. I’m going to tell you a little story. PIPER is special to me because I got to watch it for the first time while sitting in the iconic EL CAPITAIN theatre. And I cried because it was stunningly beautiful. I digress, just go watch it in 3D and let me know what you think!
Whew! That’s a lot to see during Pixar Fest, but that’s not all. There is so much to see and do during the event and I cannot wait to see the pictures once the gates open. Raise your hand if you’re ready to go to Pixar Fest! ?
