I treasure the moments I have with my family, and I look forward to having family pictures done every year. One reason is that I want to see the past images and look at how much my children have grown or how we’ve changed throughout the years.
Megan Ward Photography has been our go-to photographer for five or six years, now and I adore the shots of the kids she’s able to capture. She’s especially good at getting shots of my son, who does not like to sit still – or open his eyes. Oh, the joys of motherhood. 😉
Megan Ward Photography Sunflower Field Family Photo Session
This year, Megan suggested we have our family pictures taken at a local sunflower field so that’s exactly what we did. I have to tell you that sunset in a sunflower field is spectacular. The proof is in the pictures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Megan recently shared the top questions she gets asked as a professional photographer and business owner.
What are your business hours?
I schedule appointments Monday through Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Sundays.
Where should we have our photoshoot?
I love taking photos outdoors when the weather cooperates! We have great Lakes, beaches and wooded areas here in Florida. I’ve even shot photos in a client’s backyard. Depending on the location you choose, the fee may fluctuate. There are some places that charge a photographer fee, so prices may increase a bit upon booking those locations.
Studio and In-Home Sessions are also a great place because people often feel comfortable in their own homes. I encourage my clients to choose a place they will feel the most comfortable. We also have a studio with lots of different backdrops, seating arrangements, and props. It’s especially perfect for those hot summer days.
I’m not sure my kids will sit or pose at a session. What then?
If I notice a child or children aren’t into the photos sometimes, I’ll start singing a song or dance silly dances. It’s helpful for me if you tell me songs they are interested in or if they’re into certain things (like Pokemon, etc.). Also, it’s great to bring a favorite toy or stuffed animal they love.
Sometimes it helps if a good friend of the family or funny aunt or uncle tags along to help keep the children motivated. Usually, it’s the candid photos are mine and the clients’ favorite. Even the crying ones. 🙂
What happens if I cancel or forget the appointment?
Things happen, and life gets hectic. Please let me know if you can’t make it. I’ll try my best to work with you on rescheduling.
One of my pet peeves is a no-show client. During busy seasons, I have a waitlist, so even if you cancel, I might give someone else the opportunity. When you book, you pay a non-refundable deposit. You won’t get this back if you’re able to reschedule.
However, I schedule one-time events in special locations. If we book you for this and you miss it, you’ll be able to reschedule, but we might hold your new session in a different location and setting. I would highly recommend avoiding missing your session during a special event if you can prevent it.
If I get sick or the weather isn’t in our favor, we can reschedule or we will give money back.
