Valentine’s Day Dining
I’m getting together with a few of my Social Fabric friends, and we’re giving you the best lists of romantic restaurants in your area. There are so many of us, I’m sure you’ll be able to find the perfect romantic restaurant to take your Valentine.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Come closer. My wedding anniversary is the day before Valentine’s Day. Do you know what that means? It means I either get one combined present or one combined dinner to celebrate both at one time. I think my hubby lucked out in the fact that he only has to remember to celebrate once a year, rather than trying to remember our Anniversary and Valentine’s Day.
This year, I think we’re going to celebrate by going out to eat. We live in a small community, but there are still a few romantic restaurants around here where we can have a nice dinner.
Romantic Restaurants in Mount Dora, Florida
My husband and I have eaten at the Goblin Market many times over our 16 year marriage. I believe our first time going, was our first wedding anniversary. We’ve been going ever since. Wonderful food and a great atmosphere make this one of my top picks.
Celebrating seventeen years in the historic downtown Mt. Dora village, the goblin market restaurant has been charming locals and tourists alike since 1996. The restaurant features three intimate, book-lined dining rooms furnished in soothing muted tones with tasteful modern art. The private, tree shaded, courtyard and garden patio are open year round for alfresco dining, and lighter gourmet fare is served nightly in our full-service lounge. Low lighting and “new age” music add the finishing touches to the restaurant’s casual elegance.
The Frog and Monkey
Okay, we eat here all the time. The Frog and Monkey is laid back and casual, with the best burgers and sandwiches. They also have the best drink in town called the Blue Velvet. The owner always makes me one when I walk in the door. If you want a low-key evening with absolutely amazing food, this is your place. Hubby recommends the black and blue burger and I always get the turkey panini (to die for!).
located in the basement of the Renaissance Building in beautiful downtown Mount Dora, FL. With a vast beer selection and the best burger and chips in Lake County, our diverse menu and whimsical atmosphere create a superb venue for casual diners and beverage connoisseurs.
Cecile’s French Corner
Located in Downtown Mount Dora, Cecile’s offers a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. Many times, you can also listen to live music on the patio. From their fondue (delish!) to their salads and crepes, there isn’t a thing on the menu I don’t like. It’s all beautifully prepared and mouth-watering.
For the Italian lover, there is Cafe Gianni. Quiet and romantic, it’s the perfect place for a sweetheart dinner. They offer seafood and pasta dishes, as well as a nice selection of wine and beer.
If you are into fresh Florida seafood and great steaks, you’ll want to go to Pisces Rising.
Fresh Florida Seafood & Steak House. On the edge of quaint downtown Mount Dora, Pisces Rising overlooks Lake Dora and the setting sun. Our focus is fresh seafood and hand-cut Certified Black Angus Beef served with fresh seasonal vegetables and flair. Lovingly wrapped around a Florida cracker bungalow style home built in the 1920s, the modern addition blends seamlessly with its gracious past.
Lampu Japanese Steakhouse
If you want to spend your romantic Valentine’s Day dinner with other people, watching while the chef makes your food, then Lampu is the way to go. Fun atmosphere, you can bring the kids to watch the fun cooking experience.
Experience the visual spectacle of lunch or dinner being expertly prepared right in front of you by one of our teppanyaki chefs.
The Windsor Rose Tea Room
The Windsor Rose Tea Room is great for an afternoon tea party or a quaint place for a romantic lunch. They offer British fare and delicious teas. Personally, I like The Windsor – a full English tea for two. They also have the best lemonade in town.
The Windsor is becoming known not only for their food but for British groceries, and imported teas from favorite English brands like Taylors, Yorkshire, Twining’s, and Tetley. Most recently, the Windsor has expanded into carrying Stash tea and loose leaf teas hand blended from Dil’s Royal teas from Sri Lanka. (Ceylon)
Norm’s Pallete is a wine, beer, and tapas bar. For a quiet evening filled with delicious food, great drinks, and art check out this little restaurant.
Come in as strangers. Leave as friends. Destination for the senses.
Did I leave something out? What is your favorite restaurant for date night? Let me know. I’d love to try some new places.
