Philips Norelco Vacuum Stubble & Beard Trimmer Pro

I’m going to be honest, I don’t really like shaving. I’ll grow out my beard sometimes but the kids don’t like “scratchy face”. And most electric shavers don’t stand up to my heavy, fast growing beard. So most of the time I have a goatee and have to maintain shaving every two to three days.

I’ve been using electric hair clippers to maintain my goatee, so when my wife handed me a Philips Norelco Vacuum Stubble & Beard Trimmer Pro,  I wondered if that would do the trick. It has a rechargeable battery, a hair collection chamber, an adjustable depth gauge, a turbo boost switch and a cool little LED to let you know when it is time to recharge. Best of all, it only takes an hour to charge! With the depth gauge you can easily dial in almost an inch down to 1/32 of an inch. For close stubble you can easily take the guard off. 

The coolest thing is the “Vacuum” feature. Normally with an electric razor there are bristles all over the sink, but now most of the stubble falls into the hair collection chamber. Then just open the door and dump it into the trash. A few bristles escaped onto the sink but not nearly what I’m used to finding after I shave. I don’t know how they did it, but this stubble feels a little softer than what I’m used to it being.

I don’t know how long the rechargeable batteries are supposed to last, but there are instructions for changing it out should I need to. That makes me think this thing is going to last a while. It also has a two year warranty, which in this day and age of throw away electronics, is pretty good. I honestly can see this trimmer getting a lot of use. And now I’ll only have to do a smooth shave for special occasions. -Shane
