I received a package in the mail a few weeks ago from Smiley360 that contained Knorr Homestyle Stock and recipes for using the stock.
I looked through the recipes and this one stood out, mainly because I’m a slow cooker girl. I love my slow cooker because I am a morning person. If I can throw everything together in the morning and have dinner ready at night with no work, then I’m happy.
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Recipe

8 hours 15 minutes
Ingredients

- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 10 kaiser rolls or hamburger buns
Instructions
- Arrange pork in the slow cooker.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl (except the rolls) and pour over pork and turn to coat.
- Cook covered on LOW 8 to 10 hours or HIGH 4 to 6 hours or until pork is tender.
- Pull pork with forks and leave in the slow cooker to simmer.
- Serve on rolls.
The pork shoulder I purchased was around 2 1/2 pounds and it worked out just fine. I used a 5 quart Crock-Pot and cooked it for 8 hours on low. About an hour before it was finished, I took the pork shoulder out and shredded it and put it back into the juices so that it could pick up some more flavor.
I toasted the hamburger buns in the toaster oven, put a couple of scoops of the pork on the roll and topped it with homemade coleslaw. It was perfect.
The dish was so flavorful, which surprised me just a little because the amount of stock I put in there didn’t look like a lot. One little tub of Knorr Homestyle Stock makes 3 1/2 cups of broth. I am used to using “stock in a box” so this was a nice change. The verdict from the family: They LOVED this recipe and the flavor of the stock. My husband said it added so much depth to the flavor of the dish. This was the first time I cooked this particular recipe, so I can’t say whether it was better than when I made it with “regular” stock, but I can say that I cannot wait to try this stock with some of my “standard” slow cooker recipes. I make Chicken and Dumplings in the slow cooker and I think this stock will take that meal to the next level. I will have to keep you updated!
