Thank you to Disney for providing tickets for my family to attend this media event. All opinions are my own.
Celebrating the Holidays at Animal Kingdom
From the moment you step into Animal Kingdom, you’ll notice the holiday feeling in the air and the exciting changes taking place throughout the park.
When you land on Discovery Island, you’ll see the Tree of Life and a whimsical winter celebration taking place. These life-size, artisan-sculpted animal puppets surround you and include reindeer, foxes, and polar bears. The cast members make sure that each of the children feels special when these puppets come to life in front of their eyes.
Stop in for a photo op with Russell and Dug at Discovery Island
Russell and Dug’s place is decked out for Christmas cheer and we were all smiles! Lights, trees, and even dog-bone ornaments could be seen during the meet and greet.
There was so much going on in DinoLand U.S.A. including Donald’s Dino-Bash and a photo op with Donald and some of his favorite pals dressed in their holiday best.
Even the garland had a dino theme! I love these little details and the kids found this toy dino hanging around our dinner restaurant.
Even Pandora – The World of Avatar got in on the holiday celebration.
Some of the trees throughout Pandora were decorated and at Pongu Pongu they combined vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.
Also check out the glowing flowers, lanterns and more in Asia and the Western traditions with authentic colors and textiles in Africa.
Don’t miss the holiday photos with Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Adventures Outpost.
Wearing the Holidays
From peppermint ears to a buffalo plaid hat/ears, there is something for everyone! Also available is this snowman Mickey ear drink holder and more.
New wall alert!
The Circle of Life wall mural is now the best picture taking spot. Each of the kids found their favorite spot or animal and we started clicking.
Tree of Life Awakenings
Beginning after dark and occurring about every 10 minutes until the park closes, Tree of Life Awakenings is a show that must be seen.
Flickering fireflies magically appear and stir to life the animal spirits in the tree’s towering trunk—bringing to light a dazzling visual display swarming with color and animated imagery.
Gaze upon a young doe embarking upon a thrilling journey. Behold love blossoming between a pair of hummingbirds. Spy a sly fox spreading gifts of love among the denizens of a wintry forest.
A feast for the eyes, each revelation celebrates the eternal balance and harmony that exists in all living things, big or small, and is sure to inspire and delight your whole family tree.
Don’t forget to stop by the Christmas Tree just outside the gate before you leave to grab your pictures!
