Cheesy Chicken Tater Tot Casserole

Cheesy Chicken Tater Tot Crock Pot Casserole

I found this recipe yesterday and happened to have everything I needed in the pantry, so we made it for dinner last night. Super easy, 5-minute prep and then let it cook all day in the Crock Pot. It was so delicious! Hubby and I were actually discussing adding onion next time, but once we tasted the finished meal, decided that it was yummy, even without adding anything else.

  • salt & pepper, to taste

  1. Spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Layer half of the frozen tater tots on the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the bacon pieces.
  4. Now top with 1/3 of the shredded cheese.
  5. Add diced chicken on top. Season with salt & pepper.
  6. Now add 1/3 of the bacon pieces and another 1/3 of shredded cheese.
  7. Put the rest of the frozen tater tots on top.
  8. Finish with the remaining 1/3 cheddar cheese and remaining 1/3 of bacon pieces.
  9. Pour 3/4 cup milk all over the top.

  1. I have done something similar in the oven for years, I’ll have to try the crockpot. However, I HIGHLY recommend the Reynolds Crock Pot Liners – they are to die for, lol! No more messy crock ever. And the price is really good, plus I’ve found coupons quite often, so generally about a quarter for one liner, although they usually come in a box of 4. I had some dollar off coupons and found bonus boxes of 6.

  2. May be a stupid question, but is chicken raw or cooked when you put it in the cooker?
