Have you started watching Baby Daddy on ABC Family yet? What are you waiting for? This show is hilarious. I seriously love Melissa Peterman’s sense of comedic timing and now that I’ve met her in person, I have to say I adore her. But, I’ll tell you more about that (and more) when I share my interviews with you next week.
About Baby Daddy
Baby Daddy is a half-hour comedy that follows Ben, a young man in his early 20s living the life of a bachelor in New York City with his buddy, Tucker, and his brother, Danny. Their lives are turned upside down when they come home one day to find a baby girl left on the doorstep by an ex-girlfriend of Ben’s. After much deliberation, Ben decides to raise the baby with the help of his friends and his protective and sometimes over-bearing mother, Bonnie, and his close female friend, Riley.
The series stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Ben, Derek Theler as Danny, Tahj Mowry as Tucker, Melissa Peterman as Bonnie, and Chelsea Kane as Riley.

My visit to the set of Baby Daddy
After leaving the set of Melissa & Joey, we made our way over to the Baby Daddy set as it was literally across the way, on the same lot. The difference between the two sets was that while the Melissa & Joey cast was in rehearsal, the cast of Baby Daddy was filming their show. What did that mean for us? We had to be super stealthy with our interviews and sometimes not even make a peep while the cameras were rolling. It did make for an interesting afternoon of interviewing, but the cast was great and made us feel welcome.
In between filming and interviews, we went down to the apartment set and took pictures. Since we’re multitasking mavens, we also took selfies with the cast while we were down there. I’ll be sharing those during my interview posts next week. I’ll say this, some of the actors are pros at taking selfies.
Photographer Eric McCandless caught this picture of me and Melissa Peterman taking a selfie. Love it!
The set of Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) and Tucker’s (Tahj Mowry) apartment is smaller than it looks and when the set designers decorated, they made it the perfect bachelor pad and added a few nice touches. The vintage Metallica ticket stub from 1994 on the fridge? Yep, it was real. I have one just like it in a scrapbook somewhere.
Some other great pictures were found on the refrigerator in Ben’s apartment. Check out the mullet on Danny (Derek Theler) or the sky-high hair on Bonnie (Melissa Peterman). Melissa said that was a lot of fun to dress up with the huge hair and take those pictures.
The best, though? This wall phone that could have been hanging in my house when I was growing up.
Here’s a look at the full kitchen area. There are even “dirty” dishes in the sink. Now, that’s more like my house.
The bedroom is so small, but is filled with so many things that make it like a bachelor’s room. Except, maybe the crib.
Check out all the pink in playroom, too. My daughter would love those pink chairs.
Oh, don’t forget the elevator and entryway to the apartment.
We had such a great time on the set of Baby Daddy. The cast really did make us feel welcome, even when we were not very successful in trying to be quiet.
We watched on the monitors when the taping was happening, but then we’d rush down to the stage for pictures and selfies, then back up to the bleachers to interview another cast member. Oh, and did I mention that Eddie Cibrian was on set taping the day we were there? You may have seen the picture on Instagram. Actually, all my selfies from that day are on my Instagram page if you want to go take a peek. I’ll have more on the Baby Daddy interviews next week, so stay tuned!
