“As a mother myself, I instantly bonded with the theme and story of Disneynature’s new film “Bears.” I was really touched by the universal symbolism. – Alex Woo

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Disneynature BEARS while I was in L.A. last month. I’ll be taking the kids to see it at the theater when it opens on Friday. They will love watching the journey of a mother bear, along with her two cubs, trek the wilderness in search of salmon. The beauty of this film isn’t lost on me, the setting in Alaska is absolutely breathtaking and the fact that we’re able to see this journey happen is incredible to think about. I cannot wait to hear what my kids think of the film.

About Disneynature BEARS

In an epic story of breathtaking scale, Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure “Bears” showcases a year in the life of a bear family as two impressionable young cubs, Amber and Scout, are taught life’s most important lessons. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bear family emerges from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bears must work hard to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from rival male bears and predators, including an ever-present wolf. “Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—Alaska!  Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Earth,” “African Cats” and “Chimpanzee”) and Keith Scholey (“African Cats”), and narrated by John C. Reilly, BEARS arrives in theaters April 18, 2014, to celebrate Earth Day!

  1. Ugh. So sad! I always celebrated Earth Day by celebrating Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s birthday (est. 04/22/1998) at the same time. :'( No more DAK for me at this time. (maybe again in the future) Until then, I’ll say “Have a Wild Day!”.

  2. We do not really celebrate Earth day. To use every day should be Earth day we recycle and reuse everything to its maxed
